Bundy Farm Tour Feb 2021
Over 60 macadamia growers, consultants and service providers joined a busy tour of macadamia sites across the Bundaberg region on the 11thof Feb 20121 which was run by the Grower Services Team at Suncoast Gold Macadamias.
Scrap the tax. The proposed Biosecurity levy is another blow to Australia's 85,000 farmers and the macadamia industry, one of largest agricultural exports.
Australian farmers already do their part to protect our land from pests and diseases. They shouldn't have to shoulder the burden of the Biosecurity Protection Levy on top of everything else!
🚨 From July 1 2024, nearly all of Australia's 85,000 farmers are being asked to pay a new tax for biosecurity.
🌽 Australian farmers already contribute billions to biosecurity through existing levies and on-farm management. But the proposed Biosecurity Protection Levy doesn't recognise these efforts.
❌ It deviates from industry levy norms, doesn't follow the National Biosecurity Strategy, and lacks transparency in collection and management.
Join Suncoast Gold, the Australian Macadamia Society, and the National Farmers Federation and all its members in urging senators to vote against the Biosecurity Protection Levy Bills and work towards a more effective and fair solution to keep our farmers farming, and help stimulate, not stifle Australia's agricultural future.

NOW RECRUITING FOR 2024 MACADAMIA SEASON
Suncoast Gold Macadamias is an Australian, grower-owned, wholesale macadamia processor. We produce high quality macadamia products right here in Gympie for our customers in Australia and around the world.
We have seasonal casual roles in our factory including:
- Process Workers in our raw sorting lines, packing area, and value-adding area.
- Nut In Shell Receivals team – assisting in receiving bulk deliveries and grading processes.
- Night Cleaning team – industrial/commercial cleaning experience preferred.
- Cracker Room team – equipment and machinery knowledge preferred.
Ability to work to orders and deadlines, work well within a team, attention to detail, cleanliness and record keeping skills a must.
Some industrial/food processing, experience or transferable skills would be an advantage.
Training Provided.
💰 Casual rates. Rotating roster with AM and PM shifts available including penalty rates.
🛣 Location- our facility is based just off the highway in Gympie, close to town, commutable distance to the Sunshine Coast.
