EVENTS FOR GROWERS AND SHAREHOLDERS

Growers who are part of the Suncoast Gold family have access to a unique range of grower events. In the past we have hosted farm walks, meeting and workshops on topics such as pollination and integrated pest management.  We conduct factory tours, open days, farm bus tours and end of season functions.

TRACK ‘EM AND TRAP ‘EM

Feral pigs are among Queensland’s most widespread and damaging pest animals. As well
as damaging fields, orchards, creeks, and streams, they also carry disease, viruses, and
weeds. Their annual cost to our state’s agriculture is an estimated $95 million.

Suncoast Gold Macadamias have partnered with GrowCom to host the Track ‘em and Trap
‘em field day as part of the ‘Pests, Dirt and Fert’ series supporting horticultural growers in
the Mary Burnett region.

The event will provide practical training and advice on efficient, strategic, humane, and cost-effective feral pig management options.

  • Demonstration of trapping infrastructure, equipment, and technology – including
  • Thermal Image Drone Surveillance, night scopes, and satellite communication
  • Field visit to an orchard where exclusion fencing has been installed
  • Discussion with other growers on feral pig control strategies
  • Discussion with a number of stakeholders on area wide management approaches
